With a rousing final phase on the 30th match day of the 3rd Liga, SV Wehen Wiesbaden took a point at their homegrounds, the BRITA Arena, against 1. FC Saarbrücken. After going down 0:2, the Red and Blacks turned the match around in the dying stages. It took brace scorer Phillip Tietz all of eight minutes to secure the 2:2 final score (84’/90’+2).
With 45 goals from 30 games, SVWW is now in 7th place in the 3rd Liga table.
Rüdiger Rehm: “Having gone down 0:2, this is a winning point for us which we achieved with a great attitude. When you’ve left the pitch four times as the loser and you’re 0:2 down, to be able to come back like this is huge”.
Phillip Tietz: “We can count ourselves lucky that we held on to a point at the end. We need to stick to the game plan”.
The next fixture for the Red and Blacks is next Monday (12 April, 7 pm) away to SV Meppen.
